Parties can be challenging during the teenage years. Your kids aren't old enough to drink but might feel that they're much too old for traditional party games like musical chairs and pass the parcel. Having no activities is also a no-no though—teens can feel awkward when left to simply chat with friends, particularly if they've recently started a new school and haven't formed any close bonds yet. Hiring inflatable equipment is a great way to make sure that everyone has loads of fun. There are loads of novel options available (forget boring bouncy castles), and we've listed some of the best below.
Bouncy assault course
This is a great way for teens to enjoy the fun of bouncing around, without the embarrassment of being seen on a 'kids' bouncy castle. Inflatable assault courses are made up of a range of obstacles, including squeeze walls to wriggle through, scramble walls to climb up and over, and 'bish bash obstacles' that need to be batted out of the way. Depending on the size of your garden or party venue, you can hire extra sections of assault course. A large slide is a really fun way to end the course, and adding extra scramble walls increases the level of difficulty. If there will be young relatives attending the party, you should consider hiring a smaller, less difficult course so that they can join in the fun.
Human table football
If your teen loves football, but you want to include something more special than a typical kick about at their party, then human table football is ideal. In this giant inflatable football pitch, your party guests will take the place of the plastic players. They'll be strapped to a pole, meaning that they can only move from side to side. This adds a fun novelty to the game, plus an extra element of challenge. Your party guests will have to communicate well to win, so this is a great way for your teen to bond with their friends and learn new skills. The table can be used by ten players at once, so make sure that you invite a suitable number of guests.
Pole jousting inflatable
In this fun one-on-one challenge, players must sit on a pole and try to knock their opponent off using a large stick - without overbalancing and falling off themselves! This game is loads of fun to play and watch, and you could set up tournaments to find the jousting champion. A soft inflatable surface below the pole means that there'll be no injuries when the loser falls.
